About the show
Chichester Festival Theatre’s hit revival of Tim Firth’s comedy transfers to the West End’s Duke of York theatre. The show features an all star cast including Adrian Edmondson, Neil Morrissey, Miles Jupp and Robert Webb.Neville’s Island tells the hilarious story of a team building exercise gone wrong. The four men, all managers at a mineral water company in Salford, have been sent to the Lake District for a team bonding weekend when things go disastrously awry. The play is set during November on a small island in the Lake District where the characters find themselves marooned after their boat sinks. The story starts out funny but things get a bit darker as office rivalries begin to rear their ugly head.
Neville’s Island was first seen back in 1992. Thanks to its success it was also made into a film for TV in 1998 Starring Timothy Spall, Jeff Rawle, David Bamber and Martin Clunes.
This production features an all star cast including Adrian Edmondson (The Young Ones, Bottom) Miles Jupp (Rev, The Thick of It) Neil Morrissey (Men Behaving Badly, Waterloo Road) and Robert Webb (Peep Show, That Mitchell and Webb Look).
Writer Tim Firth enjoyed great success with his stage play Calendar Girls that he then adapted into the hit film. He also co-wrote the screenplay for Kinky Boots the film which has recently been adapted into a hit musical on Broadway.
The play is directed by Angus Jackson and features an impressive water logged set design by Robert Innes Hopkins. Those sitting in the front row are issued with rain macs in case of splashes.
