Reviews

Here is a round-up of reviews from the critics.

"...Ultimately, the main draw is a punchy soundsystem ringing to the katana-sharp live renditions of the band's material, although it's a bit of a shame that Freddie's lyrics are occasionally tinkered with for plot purposes. As is the underwhelmingly reserved atmosphere created by a tourist-heavy audience. Queen fans with a sense of humour won't be disappointed. Theatre fans may want to look elsewhere."

Alexi Duggins, Time Out
14 April 2011, Dominion Theatre

“What distinguishes We Will Rock You is that it’s about rock music. It doesn’t take itself seriously, but it ends up taking rock music just seriously enough to be moving. There’s a lot of soul, and it’s what makes the show…with scorching live guitars all round.”

Alistair Macaulay, Financial Times
15 May 2002, Dominion Theatre

“Queen’s musical is kind of magic. It is spectacular. Magnifico. There was wild applause at the climax of the show….and it only got louder.”

Hugh Davies, The Telegraph
15 May 2002, Dominion Theatre

"Under Pressure, Killer Queen, Somebody To Love and I Want To Break Free all remind you how fabulous Queen were and will have even the most curmudgeonly punter tapping their feet."

Fiona Sturgess, The Independent
15 May 2002, Dominion Theatre
