1. Back to the Future Ticket Prices

You know the movies, but have you seen the musical? The smash-hit Broadway and West End musical, Back to the Future, is incredibly popular across the globe, with tourists flocking to the capital to watch the modern take on this classic film. Due to its popularity, ticket prices can often surpass £100 for the best seats in the theatre.

There are a few ways to get the cheapest tickets, including Day Seats, and if you can, booking tickets to mid-week performances. The production is sometimes included in seasonal discounts, such as London Theatre Week and Kids Week, so keep your eyes peeled for any savings.

If you can’t find a discount, don’t worry! Below we’ve pulled together a complete guide to making the most of your budget and getting cheap Back to the Future tickets.

2. When to Book Tickets for Back to the Future

The musical typically has good availability a month or so in advance, although it's best to keep in mind that cheaper-priced tickets sell out earlier. Or, if you want to see the production during peak times, such as over the weekend or during school and bank holidays, we recommend booking a few months ahead of time to get the best seats within your budget.

Off-peak performances between Mondays and Thursdays are the best way to save money on tickets, so if you’re flexible with when you can visit the theatre, we recommend booking for mid-week performances. For example, many Stalls and Dress Circles seats for a mid-week show in 2024 cost £85, with the same seats at a weekend production costing £95 (prices from the box office website):

Offers aren’t always available for the musical, however, the show is sometimes included in seasonal promotions, such as London Theatre Week or the London Theatre New Year Sale, so it’s best to keep your eyes out for any of these.

3. Last Minute Back to the Future Tickets

If you’re looking for good value, last-minute tickets we recommend looking online or heading to the box office. It may be worth visiting the TKTS booth in Leicester Square or checking their online listings for discounted same-day tickets.

Every day of a performance TodayTix releases £29.50 ‘Rush’ tickets through their app. You can set an alert on the app to be one of the first in line to purchase 1 or 2 of the limited first-come first-serve tickets that are available online.

Unsold tickets on the day of performances may be lowered in price depending on demand. At the time of writing, Seat N5 in the Dress Circle is £59.50 for this evening's performance. For tomorrow's performance, the same seat is priced at £75 - this is a saving of over £15!

It’s best to keep in mind that this isn’t always the case, especially during peak times or when a performance is nearly sold out. Always research ticket prices before buying last minute, as prices are influenced by supply and demand.

4. Where to Sit at Back to the Future

The musical is packed full of special effects and surprises making the view from your seat more important than ever at the Adelphi Theatre. Some of the best seats are towards the front of the Dress Circle, which can come with a hefty price tag of up to £175 per ticket.

5. Back to the Future Cheap Matinee Tickets

The musical has two matinees per week, one on Thursday and the other on Saturday; both performances start at 2.30pm. Look out for any schedule changes around bank and school holidays as there may be an extra matinee or a show time change.

If you’re flexible with when you can visit, we recommend booking tickets to a Thursday matinee as you may be able to save a large amount of money. At the time of writing Stalls J20 is £135 on Thursday afternoon and £175 on Saturday afternoon via the box office - that’s a huge saving of over 29%.
