About the showAfter a hugely successful debut concert performance at the London Palladium, smash-hit cult musical Eugenius! returns to the London stage to play a strictly limited season at Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s The Other Palace. Produced by Harry Potter star Warwick Davis, alongside Kevin Wood, Eugenius! is the teenage love story set against the backdrop of comic books and superheroes.
Written by Ben Adams and Chris Wilkins, Eugenius! is the hilarious and touching tale of Eugene, a teenage boy whose dreams consist of superheroes and villains. Determined to create a Hollywood comic book movie, he enlists the help of his friends Janey and Feris.
But before this comic writing genius can embark on his journey, he must first discover the true meaning of growing up, by finding the hero within, saving the world from earthbound villains and maybe falling in love along the way! With an 80’s-inspired score, the musical includes tunes such as “Comic Book Kind of Love” and “Go Eugenius”.
Originally premiering at the London Palladium in 2016, British musical Eugenius! played a concert-style performance, featuring musical theatre stars including David Bedella, Marcus Brigstocke, Warwick Davis, Amy Lennox and Summer Strallen. New casting features the voice of Brian Blessed, with further casting yet to be announced.
Eugenius! is directed by Ian Talbot (Million Dollar Quartet), former Artistic Director of Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre for 20 years, and choreographed by Aaron Renfree. The production features design by Hannah Wolfe, sound design by Gareth Owen and lighting design by Andrew Ellis, with musical direction by Darren Lord and musical supervision by Stuart Morley.
A wacky new musical that has already gained a phenomenal cult following, Eugenius! plays at The Other Palace for a limited season. The production plays from January 22nd to March 3rd 2018, with an official opening on January 31st 2018.
