About the show

Two-time Tony Award-winning musical Falsettos has lots to say about love, in all its forms. Comical and poignant, this exploration of a modern family at the time of the AIDS crisis is disarmingly powerful. Catch it during its limited season at The Other Palace from 30 August 2019.

Selladoor Productions (Avenue Q, 9 to 5 the Musical) presents the production. After premiering on Broadway in 1992, it received seven Tony Award nominations. It won two of them: Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score.

Marvin is a gay man with a wife, a lover and a young son who is a short time away from having his bar mitzvah. Then there is their psychiatrist and the lesbian neighbours. Amidst the messy dynamic of family and community, Marvin's life heads in an ever more heart-breaking direction.

Daniel Boys (Avenue Q, Spamalot) stars as Marvin, with Joel Montague (School of Rock) as Mendel. They are joined by Natasha J Barnes as Cordelia, Gemma Knight-Jones as Charlotte, Laura Pitt-Pulford as Trina, and Oliver Savile as Whizzer.

The show's book comes from William Finn and James Lapine (Little Miss Sunshine). Finn is also responsible for the music and lyrics.

It'll tickle your funny bone and warm the cockles of your heart. See Falsettos at The Other Palace from 30 August 2019.

Who Should See It?

Musical fans: here's a Tony Award-winner you might not have seen. A Broadway hit, this run marks its European premiere. Devotees of the wonderful (Little Miss Sunshine) will find a similar heart-warming vibe going on in Falsettos. Be aware that, due to adult themes, the show isn't suitable for younger kids.
