For the last time, Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s will star in the production, which she also wrote. See it during its strictly limited run from 2 May 2019.
Fleabag previewed at London’s Soho Theatre, going on to debut at Edinburgh Festival in 2013. It has been performed across the world since then, garnering myriad awards and nominations. In 2016, it was adapted into an acclaimed BBC Three and Amazon Prime Video television series, for which Waller-Bridge scooped a BAFTA for Best Female Comedy Performance.
Meet a woman who fills her time with promiscuous sex and her own wicked sense of humour. Underneath the tough veneer, she's struggling to come to terms with the death of her mother, the emotional unavailability of her family and a particular haunting sense of guilt.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s wrote and created the first season of TV series Killing Eve, which was nominated for a host of Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA TV Awards.
The piece is produced by DryWrite, Soho Theatre and Annapurna Theatre. The director is Vicky Jones, who is currently the National Theatre's Playwright in Residence. Her previous directing credits include Mydidae and Touch.
The show's designs are by Holly Pigott, lighting comes from Elliot Griggs and sound is courtesy of Isobel Waller-Bridge.
Fleabag is that rare unicorn of exquisite writing, resonant themes and unforgettable characters. It runs for a limited season at Wyndham’s Theatre from 20 August 2019, with press night on 28 August 2019.
