About the showAs part of a newly announced residency at Vaudeville Theatre, Mischief Theatre run their brand new show Groan Ups. Step into a rowdy classroom in which a posse of anarchic teens navigate life. Groan Ups is Mischief Theatre’s first new play since 2016. It runs in the West End from 20 September 2019.
Sporting all the theatre company's trademark hilarity and slapstick fun, the show asks, what can we learn from our child selves? Are we still the same people we were then? And does my teenage crush ever think of me? These questions are explored in the gleefully ridiculous Groan Ups, in which adult cast members swap between adult and child roles.
Mischief Theatre was born in 2008 when a bunch of fun-loving students and graduates got together. Their long-running shows The Play That Goes Wrong and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery have drawn massive success and have been performed across the globe. They've spawned other shows in a similar vein, such as Peter Pan Goes Wrong and Mischief Movie Night. Farcical, silly and wonderfully funny, Mischief have carved out a recognisable and well-loved style. At the company's head are Artistic Director Henry Lewis and Company Director Jonathan Sayer.
Casting for Groan Ups includes Bryony Corrigan, Dave Hearn, Henry Lewis and Charlie Russell.
The Mischief Theatre season at Vaudeville Theatre lasts until August 2020. Come and see its first instalment, the irreverently comical Groan Ups, when it runs from 20 September 2019.
