About the show

David Suchet stars in comedic double-bill The Lover / The Collection, featuring as part of The Jamie Lloyd Company’s Pinter at the Pinter Season that celebrates the 10th anniversary of acclaimed playwright Harold Pinter. Combining over fifteen of his short plays, the season stages his finest works and lesser-known plays with star-studded casts and creatives alike.

The Lover and The Collection are two miniature comedic masterpieces that address themes of secrets, lies and seduction. Directed by Jamie Lloyd, who is at the helm of the celebratory season, The Lover is the 1965 provocative play that follows a conventional, suburban couple who find themselves in unconventional circumstances.

Taking place in the murky streets of London, the pertinent piece delves into the lives of two couples who become linked by sexual desire and an insatiable quest for supremacy.

Casting includes David Suchet, who is best-known for his recurring role in Agatha Christie’s Poirot. Suchet has extensive screen credits including Decline and Fall and Peter Pan Goes Wrong, with theatre credits including The Importance of Being Earnest at the Vaudeville Theatre and Long Day’s Journey Into Night at the Apollo Theatre.

Further casting includes John Macmillan (Chewing Gum), Hayley Squires (I, Daniel Blake) and Russell Tovey (Angels in America, The History Boys).
