An immersive experience that charts the highs and lows of popular folk rock band Simon & Garfunkel, the show marks the 50th Anniversary of the duo’s formation in 1957. Jumping behind the scenes, The Simon & Garfunkel Story delves into the true backstory of the pair; from their original grouping as Tom & Jerry to their bitter breakup.
One of the world’s most iconic pairings, the show takes audiences on a rollercoaster journey to their earning 10 Grammy Awards and to being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Culminating in an astounding recreation of their 1981 Central Park concert, the musical showcases some of their most famous songs, including “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, “The Sound of Silence”, “Mrs Robinson” and more.
Produced by Maple Tree Entertainment and originally directed by David Beck, the new production is directed by Dean Elliot (Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story), with lighting design by Nik Ryal and Dean Elliot, sound design by Graham Penn and Chris Crowther and video design by Josh Woods.
Cast members include Sam O’Hanlon as Paul Simon and Charles Blyth as Art Garfunkel, with a band including Leon Camfield (Bass), Adam Smith (Electric Guitar/Keyboards) and Mat Swales (Drums).
The Simon & Garfunkel Story plays four limited Monday performances at the Lyric Theatre London on September 4th, October 2nd, November 6th and December 4th 2017.
