About the showWhen two children at primary school meet in 1953, no one expects them to go on to be some of the best-selling musicians of all time – but they do. This concert staging of The Simon & Garfunkel Story brings to life the pair's greatest hits in a rare opportunity to pay tribute to folk music’s iconic duo.
Sam O’Hanlon and Charles Blyth portray Simon and Garfunkel in front of a live band, with photos of the performers and iconic images of the 1960's projected behind. Punctuated with some of their best-known songs, the duo’s career history is charted from when they first met through to their tumultuous break-up.
Charles Blyth (Garfunkel) has a recently appeared in HMS Pinafore, Teechers and Romeo & Juliet in the UK and abroad. Sam O’Hanlon (Simon) was in the UK tour of Jackie the Musical, as well as several fringe and regional productions.
David Beck (Wireless Theatre Company) directed the original production, with current direction provided by Dean Elliott (Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story). The current band consists of musicians Tim Bloomer, Kyla Brown, Mat Swales, Will Tuckwell and Leon Camfield.
Running for a strictly limited number of performances at London's Vaudeville Theatre, following several sold-out performances at the Lyric Theatre, there aren’t many opportunities to catch this popular touring show when it stops in the West End. It’s a great chance to hear some of Simon & Garfunkel’s greatest hits. The show runs from 12 to 17 November 2018.
