About the show

Following a triumphant 5-star run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Charing Cross Theatre, Ushers: The Front of House Musical storms the Arts Theatre Stage. Watch as the spotlight turns and makes an affectionate mockery of the strange world of corporate show business.

Ushers follows the shift-to-shift struggles of a group of front of house staff working at a West End theatre which is showing the fictional jukebox musical, Oops I Did It Again: The Britney Musical. With a trainee, the big-boss and a couple of love-birds in close proximity, what could possibly go wrong? Throughout this short and bouncy show, we witness the hilarious escapades of these programme sellers with stars in their eyes, whose aspirations often get in the way of serving ice-creams. With stabs at theatrical flops such as Viva Forever and I Can’t Sing and thinly veiled references to West End legends, this show is a contemporary and anarchic look at the less glamorous side of show business.

Yiannis Koutsakos’ music sees plenty of big company numbers mixed into the moving solo sections, whilst Russell Smith’s Fosse-esque choreography gives the show a helping of show-stopping dazzle.

Ushers: The Front of House Musical is playing from 9th September 2015 until 18th October 2015 at the Arts Theatre London.

Who Should See It?

Ushers: The Front of House Musical can be appreciated by all audiences with a good sense of humour, but is best enjoyed by musical theatre fans with a good insider-knowledge of the West End gossip and scandal.
