About the showThriller Live has been showing at London's Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue since January 2009, and is a must-see for anyone who loves Michael Jackson's music. The show is a perfect tribute to the King of Pop and includes songs from both The Jackson Five and Michael as a solo artist. Featuring the iconic songs "I Want You Back", "Smooth Criminal", "Billie Jean" and many, many more, you will certainly be up out of your seat and dancing long before the curtains have closed.
The original production previewed at the Dominion Theatre in London's West End in August 2006, headed by theatrical producer Adrian Grant. The creative team were so excited about the show's potential they were determined to ensure it was a success in the UK. In 2007 the production began a short UK and European tour, directed and choreographed by Kerys Nathan. The original cast included Pop Idol singer Zoe Birkit in one of the adult singing roles, along with the young Shaheen Jafargholi, star of Britain's Got Talent as the young Michael Jackson. In 2008 the production began auditioning for new singers opening in the West End on 21st January 2009, directed and choreographed by Gary Lloyd. Although it was scheduled to close later that year, the show gathered more interest after the singer's death on June 25th 2009. It has been playing at the Lyric Theatre ever since.
As well as various UK tours, Thriller Live has become a global phenomenon and has been seen across 29 countries by an audience of nearly 3 million keeping the King of Pop's reputation alive in a fresh and engaging way.
Thriller Live is a constantly evolving spectacular concert-style show. Four lead vocalists divide up Jackson’s catalogue of chart hits between them in this celebration of Jackson's song’s ground-breaking videos and iconic dance moves.
