About the show
Relatively Speaking takes place during a summer weekend in London and Buckinghamshire, alternating between the sitting room of Ginny's city flat and Sheila and Philips' country garden patio. Young lovers Greg and Ginny are preparing to tie the knot, just as Greg becomes suspicious of an older man in Ginny's life. As Ginny secretly travels to break off her relationship with Philip, Greg follows her incognito leading to a comedy of errors involving Greg mistakenly asking Philip for Ginny's hand in marriage.Felicity Kendal is a star of both stage and screen after shooting to fame in the BBC show 'The Good Life'. She is a regular on the West End, and famously starred in the London premiere of Ayckbourn's The Norman Conquests in 1973. She takes on the role of Sheila, alongside Jonathan Coy (Downton Abbey, Foyle's War) and Max Bennett (Posh, Lusie Miller) as the mistaken male leads. Kara Tointon makes a welcome return to the West End in the role of Ginny, after appearing in Ackybourn's Absent Friends at the Harold Pinter Theatre in 2012. She became a screen idol after appearing on the hit BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Comedy fans will enjoy seeing this classic revival once again in the West End, following on from the success of 'A Chorus of Disapproval' and 'Absent Friends' which lit up the West End in 2012. A high octane situation farce as one would expect from Ayckbourn will provide excellent entertainment for audiences of all ages.
