The Wizard of Oz Ticket Prices
Follow the yellow brick road to the Gillian Lynne theatre this Summer to catch the smash-hit, screen-to-stage adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. Returning to the West End following a sold-out season at the Palladium, the dazzling musical is in town for a strictly limited four-week run.
Tickets start as low as £15 and reach highs of £201 for the most premium seats. Prices vary between performances, with tickets costing more over the weekend as this is typically the theatre’s peak visiting time. However, if you book in advance, you can take advantage of deals during London Theatre Week.
The Wizard of Oz Discount Tickets
The Wizard of Oz may not always have available offers, although we recommend keeping your eyes on ticket prices as they often fluctuate throughout the run. During London Theatre Week ticket savings can reach up to 50% off the original price! We also recommend signing up to our mailing list, so you don't miss out on offers.
The best way to get good value tickets without discount is to choose where you sit. Websites like SeatPlan and Theatre Monkey will show you pictures and comments from real audience members to help you find the hidden gems. These sites are really useful when booking seats for shows.
When to Book Tickets
At the time of writing, The Wizard of Oz has good availability. We recommend booking as far in advance as possible for the best choice of seats, especially if you are hoping to visit over the weekend or looking for seats within a specific budget.
Tickets for mid-week performances are up to 68% cheaper than those on a weekend. It’s good to bear in mind that this might not always be the case, especially around school and bank holidays as prices vary depending on demand.
The Wizard of Oz has 11 performances per week. Afternoon performances are on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a start time of 2pm during the week and 1pm over the weekend. Evening performances start at 7pm during the week and 5pm over the weekend - these performances run Tuesday through to Sunday.
Top Tips For Your Visit
Apollo Theatre is only a short walk from Holborn and Covent Garden tube stations. As the theatre is located in the centre of London, there’s a huge variety of restaurants, bars, pubs and shops in the surrounding area.
The theatre has three bars across each floor which sell a variety of soft drinks as well as sweet and savoury snacks. Food and drinks in plastic containers are allowed into the auditorium, however, hot food is prohibited.
Doors to the theatre open 60 minutes before the show starts. We recommend arriving at least 30 minutes before the start to allow enough time for queues and security checks. The running time of The Wizard of Oz is 2 hours and 20 minutes including an interval. It’s good to keep this in mind, especially when arranging travel home from the theatre.
