About the show

One of musical theatre's most popular shows, Annie, returns to the West End. Directed by Nikolai Foster, a brand new version of the classic musical plays at the Piccadilly Theatre, starring theatre director, choreographer and Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood as the harridan Miss Hannigan.

A tale of hope and love, Annie takes place in the Big Apple during the Great Depression, following the story of a plucky little orphan, who whiles away her childhood trapped in the Municipal Girls Orphanage. If that isn’t bad enough, Annie has to constantly contend with the horror of dealing with the drunken Miss Hannigan who cares (albeit very little) for the girls.

Left with only an old letter from her parents, she is determined step out into the wide world and track them down. When she spends Christmas with popular billionaire Oliver Warbucks, her luck begins to change, but will the vindictive Miss Hannigan manage to spoil her fun? Annie is well known for its acclaimed score, which includes the hugely popular songs "It’s a Hard Knock Life", "Together at Last", "Easy Street" and "Tomorrow".

Annie marked the West End debut of TV favourite Miranda Hart as Miss Hannigan, who was replaced by Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood in September. Further casting includes Alex Bourne (Mamma Mia!) as Oliver Warbucks and Holly Dale Spencer (Sweet Charity) as Grace, as well as Jonny Fines as Rooster and Djalenga Scott as Lily.

Annie is played by three actors; Madeleine Haynes, Lola Moxom and Ruby Stokes, with Sandy the dog played by 4 year old Labradoodle Amber. Ensemble members include Keisha Atwell, Sophie Ayers, Bobby Delaney, Nic Gibney, Patrick Harper, Ben Harrold, George Ioannides, Megan Louch, Benjamin Mundy, Ben Oliver, Heather Scott-Martin, Anne Smith, Kate Somerset How, Katie Warsop and Russell Wilcox.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood takes over the role of Miss Hannigan from 18th September 2017. Please note that he will not be performing on Saturdays, due to Strictly commitments.
