Set to play a preliminary run at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, the show arrives in London after receiving acclaim from audiences and critics alike. A breath-taking musical, Come From Away delves into the heart of the community of small town Newfoundland, who welcomed 7,000 stranded passengers with open arms.
Taking place on the fateful night of 9/11, strangers are forced to spend time together, forging friendships and creating relationships that provoke culture clashes and tension that ultimately form lifelong friendships. As music soars into the night, gratitude grows into a binding love for each other.
With a book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the musical features uplifting tunes such as “Welcome to the Rock”, “Me and the Sky”, “Something’s Missing” and many more. Directed by Tony Award-winner Christopher Ashley (Memphis, Xanadu), the production features set design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Howell Binkley and sound design by Gareth Owen.
