About the show

Direct from Tony Award-winning success on Broadway comes Pasek and Paul’s unmissable new musical Dear Evan Hansen. Arriving at the West End’s Noel Coward Theatre, the emotional yet uplifting story follows the titular character as he tries to cope with a dangerous lie that spirals out of control.

Evan Hansen has never truly felt like he fits in. Coming from a broken home with limited friends at school, he wishes for a different life. When a letter that was never meant to be seen gets found, a lie begins to spiral out of control, and Evan starts to get everything he ever dreamed of. But at what price?

With a book by Steven Levenson and music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman), the musical already features show-stopping numbers including “Waving Through a Window”, “Requiem” and “You Will Be Found”.

Dear Evan Hansen is directed by Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal, If/Then) and features choreography by Danny Mefford, orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire, set design by David Korins, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Japhy Weideman and sound design by Nevin Steinberg.

Original cast included Ben Platt in the title role, with the producers committed to finding a British cast for the West End production. A profoundly heartfelt musical that is guaranteed to strike a chord with audiences of all ages, the contemporary show resonates deeply with anyone who simply wishes to be seen.

Recipient of six Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Score, Dear Evan Hansen transfers across the pond to the West End. The production runs at the Noel Coward Theatre, with performances beginning in November 2019.
