About the show

Whether it’s 3 Little Birds or One Love, Bob Marley’s music is instantly recognisable and beloved the world over, but behind every song is a story. In Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical, audiences can discover the love, loss, spirituality and triumph behind the chart-topping hits.

With unique access to Marley’s back catalogue, the musical will feature many of his best-known songs performed live on stage by the cast, including No Woman No Cry and Exodus.

Arinzé Kene stars as Bob Marley, having recently appeared opposite American actor Wendell Pierce in Death of a Salesman at the Young Vic Theatre. His other credits include Misty, a one-man show he both wrote and performed in, and Little Baby Jesus.

The musical features a book by Lee Hall, who most famously wrote Billy Elliott and more recently Elton John biopic Rocketman. Clint Dyer directs, having previously helmed Death of England at the National Theatre.

He’s inspired generations with his feel-good music and unifying message. Join the movement with Get Up, Stand Up! The Bob Marley Musical at the Lyric Theatre.
