About the show

Are you in or are you out?

After a sold-out UK premiere at The Other Palace, deadly musical Heathers transfers to London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket, running for a strictly limited season and starring Carrie Hope Fletcher. Based on the 1988 teenage cult classic, starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, the hilarious show takes place in Westerberg High, where popularity is so very a matter of life and death.

Veronica Sawyer is just another one of the many nobodies who are dying to be noticed. When she’s taken under the wings of the three beautiful but impossibly cruel Heathers, her popularity begins to rocket. But soon the mysterious JD turns up and teaches her that whilst it might hurt to be a nobody, it could be murder to be somebody…

The production first appeared at The Other Palace in 2017, in workshop performances starring Charlotte Wakefield, before returning for a fully-staged run produced by the venue's previous Artistic Director Paul Taylor-Mills. Now, Heathers The Musical comes to the West End in a full-scale production that features songs such as "Candy Store", "Dead Girl Walking" and more.

Carrie Hope Fletcher stars as Veronica Sawyer, with credits including a WhatsOnStage Award-winning stint in The Addams Family UK tour, as well as The Christmasaurus, Les Miserables and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Her debut album When the Curtain Falls also comes out this year.

Further cast members are Jamie Muscato as JD, Jodie Steele as Heather Chandler, T'Shan Williams as Heather Duke, Sophie Isaacs as Heather McNamara, Jenny O'Leary as Martha Dunnstock, Dominic Andersen as Ram Sweeney and Chris Chung as Kurt Kelly, as well as Nathan Amzi as Ram's Dad, Jon Boydon as Kurt's Dad and Amy Booth-Steel as Ms Fleming.

Ensemble cast members include Lauren Drew, Charlotte Jaconelli, Alex James-Hatton, Olivia Moore, John Lumsden, Merryl Ansah and Sergio Pasquariello.

Heathers The Musical is written by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe (Legally Blonde: The Musical) and features direction by Andy Fickman (Reefer Madness), choreography by Gary Lloyd (Thriller Live), design by David Shields, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Dan Samson.

A deadly production that is guaranteed to delight fans of the original film as well as new musical theatre fans, Heathers The Musical plays a limited season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The production runs from September 3rd 2018, and features a brand new song written specially, called "I Say No".
