About the show
Arinzé Kene's visceral play Misty transfers to the West End, following a sold-out premiere at West London’s Bush Theatre. Acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, the thrilling piece plays on the main stage at Trafalgar Studios for a strictly limited six-week season.Blending gig, theatre, spoken word and storytelling, Misty brings to life the pulsating heart of inner city London, celebrating its underground life. A heartfelt and playful expression of creative freedom, the piece sees Kene perform a story against a backdrop of original music, played live on stage.
Playwright and actor Arinzé Kene both created and performs in Misty, after most recently appearing in the West End in Bob Dylan musical Girl From the North Country. Further credits include Our Girl and The Pass, for which he earned an Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. Additional casting includes Mya Napoleon and Rene Powell as Little Girl.
Misty is directed by Omar Elerian, current Associate Director of the Bush Theatre, with credits including One Cold Dark Night and Islands. The production features design by Rajha Shakiry, lighting design by Jackie Shemesh, sound design by Elena Peña and video design by Daniel Denton, with music by Shiloh Coke and Adrian McLeod.
After selling out its initial run, this is a story that demands to be seen. Bringing to life the pumping inner soul of London, Misty uses multi-theatrical devices to create one stunning production. The show plays at the West End’s Trafalgar Studios from 8 September to 20 October 2018, with a press night on 14 September 2018.
