About the showOlivier Award-winning choreographer Drew McOnie directs Will Young, Zizi Strallen and Jonny Labey in Baz Luhrmann’s Strictly Ballroom the Musical, which dances into the West End’s Piccadilly Theatre for a limited season. After a successful revival at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2016, the vibrant production comes to the London stage, bringing with it some sensational dance!
Adapted from Baz Luhrmann’s 1992 film of the same name, Strictly Ballroom is the heart-warming story of Scott, a competitive ballroom dancer who insists on bending the rules to create his own moves. Boasting songs from the original film, the musical includes tunes such as “Love is in the Air”, “Time After Time”, “Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps” and “Standing in the Rain”.

Writer Baz Luhrmann is best known for his unique brand of films, such as The Great Gatsby, Romeo and Juliet and Moulin Rouge. Strictly Ballroom features set design by Soutra Gilmour, costume design by Catherine Martin, lighting design by Howard Hudson and sound design by Gareth Owen.
