Global superstar Beverley Knight has returned as Rachel Marron in The Bodyguard, which opened at the Dominion Theatre on July 15th. The Bodyguard is currently playing a limited six-month run until January 7th 2017. In 2012, Thea Sharrock’s smash-hit production premiered at the Adelphi Theatre, and received the WhatsOnStage Award for Best New Musical in the following year.Based on the 1992 Oscar nominated film starring Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner, The Bodyguard follows superstar Rachel Marron as she hires Frank Farmer, an ex Secret Service agent, to become her bodyguard and protect her from an unknown stalker. Both expect to be in charge of the situation and yet neither expect to fall deeply in love. Featuring a whole host of Whitney Houston hits such as ‘Queen of the Night’, ‘So Emotional’, ‘One Moment in Time’, ‘Saving All My Love’, ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’, ‘I Have Nothing’, ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’, and ‘I Will Always Love You’, The Bodyguard is a West End favourite.
Since making her West End debut as Rachel Marron in 2013, Beverley Knight has become a renowned musical theatre performer, starring in Memphis the Musical and the most recent return of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Cats at the London Palladium. Her achievements outside of the theatre include selling millions of albums in the UK, with four gold certified albums as well as the platinum selling Voice: The Best of Beverley Knight. Knight has received three MOBO Awards as well as an MBE in 2007 for her services to music and charity.
Knight will alternate performances as Rachel Marron with Carole Stennett, with further casting including Rachel John as Nicki Marron, Mark Holden as Bill Devaney, Alex Andreas as Tony, Dominic Taylor as Sy Spector, Matthew Stathers as Stalker and Glen Fox as Ray Court. Ensemble members include Faye Best, Pablo Ceresuela Torres, Carlos Ugarriza Crespo, Lisa Darnell, Charles Hagerty, Emma Joy Hopkins, Ibinabo Jack, Christopher Jeffers, Verity Jones, Phoebe Liberty, Raul Naranjo Garcia, Mary Lynn Tiep, Michael Wade-Peters, Matthew Wesley, Emmy Willow and Mark Willshire.
The Bodyguard opened at the Dominion Theatre on July 15th, playing a limited season until January 7th 2017.

Beverley Knight is not scheduled to appear on the following dates: Saturday 13 and Wednesday 31 August; Thursday 1, Friday 2, Saturday 3, Tuesday 20, Wednesday 21 and Wednesday 28 September; Saturday 1, Tuesday 18 and Friday 28 October; Saturday 12, Tuesday 15 and Tuesday 22 November; Saturday 17, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 December.
