About the show
Queen of Soul Beverley Knight returns to the West End in new jukebox musical, The Drifters Girl. Bringing the story of legendary music manager Faye Treadwell to the stage, this world premiere sings to the iconic tunes of the band she helped propel to stardom. Charting over thirty years of graft and innovation, The Drifters Girl salutes Atlantic Records manager Faye Treadwell, the woman who made The Drifters famous. Alongside her husband, Treadwell made sure The Drifters climbed to the top of the charts and became a history-maker in her own right as the first African American manager in the business. Set to a soundtrack of hits including “Stand By Me” and “Under the Boardwalk”, The Drifters Girl reveals the highs and lows of Treadwell’s life behind the spotlight, and her incredible drive to succeed. Multi-award winning singer Beverley Knight returns to the West End to play Treadwell, after previous acclaimed performances in Memphis and The Bodyguard. Further casting and creatives are yet to be announced. Whether you tap your toes to “Here Comes My Baby” or sway to “Save the Last Dance for Me”, we all have Faye Treadwell to thank for the enduring legacy of The Drifters. Discover her story as The Drifters Girl lights up the Garrick Theatre.
