About the show
Join a tiny snail and an enormous whale on a seafaring adventure this Christmas as The Snail and the Whale opens in London. The show plays from 1 December at the Apollo Theatre. In this thrilling nautical tale, a young girl and her seafaring father recreate the incredible story of one small snail’s trip around the world. There’s plenty of music, storytelling and laughter along the way as the snail hitch-hikes on the tail of a huge humpback whale… but when the whale gets beached, how can his small companion save him?
The Snail and the Whale is based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved picture book, and is brought to the stage by Tall Stories, the Olivier Award-nominated team behind The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom on stage. It is directed by Toby Mitchell, co-founder of Tall Stories, with design by Isla Shaw.
The cast includes Hannah Miller as Daughter and Snail and Tim Hibberd as Dad and Whale.
With lots of music and a heart-warming story about an unlikely duo to enjoy, The Snail and the Whale at the Apollo Theatre opens on 1 December 2019.
