About the show

We Will Rock You is one of London's most successful musicals of recent years. After opening to mainly negative reviews, the show defied critics and has now been running for over 12 years at the Dominion Theatre, winning an Olivier Award for Most Popular long running musical, as voted for by the public. The musical is a jukebox based show which uses the songs of iconic pop/rock group Queen, which was headed by performer Freddie Mercury. Using over 25 of the band's biggest hits, the show literally rocks the stage of the vast Dominion Theatre, getting the audience on its feet throughout.

The musical features an original book by comedian Ben Elton. Set in a futuristic dystopia where all music has been band, two rebels fight against the conformist Ga Ga Kids and the oppressive Killer Queen to find the spirit of Rock and Roll. As they meet a band of rebels who are living underground, the group go in search of the infamous guitar that will bring them the spirit of Freddie and help them keep his music alive. Songs such as 'Radio Ga Ga', 'I Want to Break Free', 'Somebody to Love' and 'We Are the Champions' are woven together into this action packed story that is full of humour, satire and topical references that will have you on your feet and begging for more.

After 12 glorious years in the West End We Will Rock You has announced it will close on the 31st of May 2014.
