What are the best value Matilda West End seats?
Prices for Matilda the Musical at the Cambridge Theatre range from under £25 to over £120 per person for premium central Stalls seats at weekends and during school holidays. There are, however, lots of seats available for half this price or less that promise a great view of the fun set design and musical numbers! The Cambridge Theatre is an intimate venue and seats at the sides of the Stalls and back of the Dress Circle and Upper Circle can be really good value for £60 or less.
The Best Cheap Matilda Seats Under £60
Stalls S34 (from £58) is a real hidden gem because the actors run down the aisle past this seat (they also run down the central aisle, but these seats cost more). Despite being at the very back of the Stalls, the good view and the unobtrusive Circle overhang make it a great option if you want to spend less.
Dress Circle H35 (from £58) has a slight overhang from the section above but the whole stage and all the action is still fully visible.
Top Tip: Some very cheap Matilda seats are restricted view, and are often right next to more expensive clear view seats. A great way to save is to book one restricted view and one clear view, then swap places at the interval.
Upper Circle C30 (from £58) has a great full view of the stage, and sitting here, you can enjoy the impressive set design spilling out into the auditorium.
Top Tip: Seats in the Circles can be great for children! The rake helps kids see over the rows in front and booster seats are also available. There’s a clear view of the proscenium arch, which has lots of details and words hidden in it. See how many they can spot before the show begins!
Upper Circle H16 (from £47). You might miss a couple of downstage parts here because of the angle and safety bar, but the seat is very central with good views – this is a really great value option!
Upper Circle K13 (from £24). This seat is marked restricted view and is sometimes half the price of the non-restricted view seat next to it. As one of the cheapest seats in the theatre, this is “ideal for those who would like to see the show on a budget” according to one theatregoer on SeatPlan.
Top Tip: The cheapest advance seats for Matilda during peak periods, without group rates, are £42.50 at the back of the Upper Circle section. During off-peak weekday performances, this drops to as low as £20 for restricted view seats like Upper Circle K16.
